University of Nevada, Las Vegas Reviews

Rating 5 out of 5
My overall experience with University of Nevada, Las Vegas has been wonderful! It has given me access to so many programs, internships, and contests that I would've never known about otherwise. I have learned so much from my professors especially the ones from my major. Also my professors have been so understanding, so helpful to me as someone who has no experience with my major (film) and as a first generation college student. The housing is lackluster to say the least at least in my building but, I can't complain too much!

So far, my experience at University of Nevada, Las Vegas hav been positive. The university’s diversity is one of its biggest strengths, creating an inclusive atmosphere where students from different backgrounds feel welcome. My professors have been both knowledgeable and supportive, encouraging questions and critical thinking. There are many workshops and resources available to students, which can be found on school websites or at the library. There's a wide variety of student-led organizations and clubs, that encourage student engagement. Living in the dorms at UNLV is an experience full of both convenience and challenges. On the plus side, being so close to classes and campus resources is a big time-saver—there is no commute, and it is easy to drop by campus facilities. The dorm community is pretty social, and it is easy to make friends since you’re always surrounded by people. The RA's are sure to create many social events happening throughout the month from game nights to studying.

Rating 3 out of 5
As a STEM student in the honors college at UNLV, I find the campus to be incredibly diverse with an active social life. While the surrounding area may not be the best, the campus offers a wide range of extracurricular activities to suit every interest, along with numerous restaurants nearby.
The academic environment varies, with most honors college professors being excellent and having significantly contributed to my learning experience. Many biology professors have also been great, though there are some departments, like chemistry, where the teaching quality has been less consistent.
UNLV provides fast and polite student services, and offers a wide variety of classes, majors, and minors, although the hospitality program receives the most funding. The campus also features good study spaces, extensive tutoring services, and assignment assistance available every weekday. Additionally, there are ample research opportunities and valuable networking experiences to be found on campus.
